Howdy friends!
Are you ready for Thanksgiving?
We are not hosting this year. All we have to do is show up with drinks! I'm grateful for family that lets us off the hook once in a while!
Today's post is about a dresser that was in and out of my life in a flash.
I purchased her, refinished her, delivered her to the store and two days later she was sold.
I LOVE it when that happens!
I'm grateful that has actually been the case with a lot of pieces in my booth lately. As wonderful as it is, it also has had me a little crazy trying to get pieces back into my space at the store once they're sold! I'm not complaining though...it's a good problem to have.
So here she is before her transformation.
I was attracted to her pretty legs and hardware. The seller stated in the add that she was very heavy and well made. When I hear that it's music to my ears because I'm getting picky about what I purchase these days and I don't want a piece made out of particle board.
The first thing I did was clean her up. She was a little "sticky!" I used Clorox wipes. I know, not traditionally what people use, but when I know I'm going to paint a piece I like Clorox wipes. They are a great degreaser and are quick and easy.
Next I sprayed her with gray spray paint. It took 2 cans. I hardly ever spray a piece but for the sake of time, that is the direction I went in for this piece.
I really could have sealed her and stopped there because she turned out really pretty in her gray state but I was wanting a little more dimension.
So, I decided to mix some milk paint. Miss Mustard Seed's Bergere milk paint is what I chose.
Bergere is one of my favorites. It's a blue/gray color. I have a thing for blues and grays so this color combo is perfect.
I only painted the top and the drawers of this piece in the Bergere. I then distressed the dresser with a sanding block.
I sprayed the hardware with a spray paint called chrome. I love it and use it often.
I LOVE how she turned out. She reminds me of my favorite pair of light washed jeans!
The pictures don't do her justice since I was only able to snap some photos in my booth with my phone.
I've been a crazy little painter lately so stay tuned as I post some more of the furniture transformations that have taken place!
In other news... I've started decorating for Christmas! I can't wait to reveal the direction that I'm going in this year. No blue!!! Can you believe it???
Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
xoxoxo
